SUMMARY/ABSTRACT

Healthcare organizational change plan is an important document that offers a roadmap for a healthcare facility to implement a necessary change. In an environment where patients emphasize on quality services, the Mayo Clinic needs to consider changing the manner in which it applies information technology. The hospital is faced with an urgent need to execute the change as it has fallen behind other care providers in this respect. However, given the age of most of the personnel at the hospital, instituting such a change will be difficult. There are certain factors that will influence the proposed change while the readiness of an organization for the change will be analyzed. A pertinent theoretical model will also be necessary to ensure that the proposed change succeeds. Nevertheless, the success or failure of the proposed change will also depend on internal and external resources.
