Students are required to conduct research on the context, brands, products, public, and issues that are pertinent to their case study after selecting an organization and scenario. For example, the database Factiva is an excellent source of independent information and can be employed to locate all news stories on a specific corporation. In the same vein, Annual Reports are an exceptional source of information regarding a corporation's operations, finances, and values. Alternatively, primary research can be conducted with classmates and other students to test messaging strategies or understand public perceptions of a specific product, company, or issue through small-scale surveys or focus groups. Additional details regarding these research methodologies will be furnished during class.
